David One Step Cassette Pregnancy Test
Our pregnancy cassette test, utilising a pipette to accurately add the correct amount of urine to the test well, is used through-out the NHS to confirm a positive test for pregnancy. These tests, just like all our tests, are accurate, reliable and give results very quickly. These tests indicate a positive result for pregnancy at concentrations levels of 25mIU/ml and above.
OneStep® Pregnancy (HCG) Test Cassettes are commonly used by the National Health Service (NHS) in the United Kingdom.  These units detect HCG at the FDA standard, which is 25 mIU/mL.
The cassette style test utilises a pipette (included) to accurately add the required amount of urine to the test well. There is less chance of false positives/negatives with this style of test (when compared to test strips), but, they do cost more.

How does the test work?
The Cassette Pregnancy Test detects hCG, the hormone produced during pregnancy. The amount of this pregnancy hormone increases as your pregnancy progresses.
This test is designed to detect 25mIU/ml of the hCG and should be able to tell you if you are pregnant the day your period is due if you have a 28-day cycle.
The level of hormone is greater first thing in the morning so it is best to test your first urine of the day.
How accurate is the test?
This test is over 99% accurate if used 7 days after your next period is due. Hormone levels in women do vary and some women may not have detectable levels of the hormone on the first day they test for it.
What do I do if the result says I am pregnant?
A positive pregnancy test result shows that levels of hCG have been detected. You should see your doctor to confirm, as this test is so sensitive some women may test positive even if they are not pregnant (this is usually due to a hormone called pituitary hCG or a medical condition such an ovarian cyst or ectopic pregnancy).
It is also important for you to receive medical advice for proper care and counselling.
What do I do if the test says I am not pregnant?
This would mean you may not be pregnant or it is too soon because your levels of hCG are too low. You may also have miscalculated your menstrual cycle, or when you thought you may have conceived.
If you still haven’t had your period, or still think you are pregnant, then retest with a second test after three days. If you retest, and the result is still negative, then you should contact your doctor as there may be a health related reason for why your period is not happening.
What happens if the control line doesn’t come up?
The result should appear within three minutes. If not wait another minute. If the lines have not appeared after 10 minutes or the control line is not present, then the test is invalid. You should retest with a new test, carefully following the instructions.
What if the test line is very faint?
Even if the test line is faint it means a positive pregnancy result.
Will the result change if I leave it for some time?
The test needs to be read after 3 minutes but within 10 minutes.
Do drugs or medication affect the test?
This test should not be affected by hormone therapies containing clomiphene, by alcohol, painkillers, antibiotics or the contraceptive pill.
It will only be affected by drugs containing the pregnancy hormone hCG. I have tried getting pregnant but have not yet succeeded.
Is there anything I can do?
You are most likely to get pregnant during the 2-3 days around when you are ovulating. To be able to tell when this is happening use the David One Step Cassette Pregnancy Test.
Baby Now Ovulation Test, Fertility Test or the David One Step Cassette Pregnancy Test. This kit contains all you need to have the best chance of conceiving- ovulation tests, pregnancy tests, a sperm concentration test and an ovulation chart and special ovulation thermometer.
