Overview

Nature's Way Organic Sambucus Zinc 24 Lozenges
Bio-Certified Organic Sambucus Zinc Lozenges with vitamin C
For centuries the berries of the European black elder (Sambucus nigra L.) have been traditionally used as a winter remedy. Virologist testing has shown that elderberry extract helps prevent replication of viruses by preventing their adherence to a cell, thus preventing the multiplication and spread of the virus (viruses cannot replicate without invading a cell). Nature’s Way uses solvent free bio-certified Bioactives® elderberry extract as scientific research shows this form to be bio-available and active within the body for optimal effectiveness.
Vitamin C is most famous for use as an immune system tonic, supporting the body’s resistance to bacterial and viral infections. Vitamin C does this by supporting the production and activation of lymphocytes, neutrophils, antibodies and interferon (a protein excreted by cells when exposed to a virus). Adequate vitamin C supports recovery time from ills and chills.
Zinc is an important antioxidant mineral and a co-factor in over 300 enzymatic reactions including those integral to immune function. Scientific research shows zinc to be beneficial for a wide variety of respiratory conditions as it is an important mineral to support lung function. Zinc is an essential component of mucous membranes, of the bronchial tubes, which helps to protect against viruses and other foreign invaders. Zinc gluconate lozenges have been shown to support recovery time from ills and chills. In particular zinc gluconate has been shown to coat the throat to support and soothe red, raw tissue.
